Dr. Odyssey

Clinical care, held to its own standard.

Coaching and medicine are different disciplines, so clinical care at Odyssey has its own practitioners, its own protocols and its own handling of your health information. It sits alongside the rest of your care, in one record.

Meet the practitioners

What clinical care covers.

These are areas of care, not a catalogue. What is appropriate for you — if anything — is decided in consultation, and anything prescription-only is prescribed by your practitioner and dispensed by a licensed partner pharmacy.

Recovery & repair

Support for tissue recovery and return-to-training, guided by your history and your practitioner's assessment.

Metabolic health

Weight, blood glucose and energy metabolism, managed clinically where results show coaching alone is not enough.

Cellular health & longevity

Practitioner-led protocols aimed at how you age, grounded in bloodwork rather than trends.

Immune support

Clinical options for immune function, considered against your full picture and prescribed only where indicated.

How it works

Four steps, and the pharmacy does the dispensing.

01

Book

Choose your practitioner and request a consultation.

02

Consult

Your practitioner takes your history and, where useful, orders bloodwork.

03

Plan

You get a treatment plan. Where a medicine is indicated, a script is issued.

04

Dispensed

The licensed partner pharmacy compounds, dispenses and delivers. Your account shows order status only.

Registered practitioners

Every practitioner in clinical care is registered with the HPCSA and works within their own scope of practice. Your practitioner is named to you before any consultation.

Prescription-only medicines

Where a medicine is indicated it is prescribed by your practitioner and dispensed by a licensed pharmacy partner. Nothing scheduled is sold through this website.

Your information

Health data is special personal information under POPIA. It is processed for your care, held under an operator agreement with our clinical partners, and never used for marketing.

Dr Roland Kroukamp

Dr Roland Kroukamp

Family Physician

Frontline and emergency care

Dr Roland Kroukamp practises as a family physician at Mitchells Plain Community Health Centre, where the work is frontline and unscheduled: whoever comes through the door, in whatever state they arrive. He has twice been recognised in the Western Cape Government's Service Excellence Awards, once for frontline service delivery and once as a public service innovator, the latter for a paediatric emergency resuscitation system built to make the first minutes of a child's emergency faster and more reliable. That is the discipline he brings to Odyssey: decisions made under real constraints, and care measured by what actually happens to the patient.

  • Recognised as a public service innovator for a paediatric emergency resuscitation system
Dr Lenise Swanson

Dr Lenise Swanson

Medical Doctor

Special interest in heart disease and cardiovascular health

Dr Lenise Swanson is a medical doctor on the Odyssey clinical team, with a particular interest in heart disease and cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular risk is the clearest example of what Odyssey is built around: it develops quietly, over years, and is measurable long before it becomes an event. Her work is with the people who want that picture early, and who want a plan they can actually follow once they have it.

  • Medical doctor on the Odyssey clinical team
  • Special interest in heart disease and cardiovascular health
  • Consultation-led care, with treatment decided in the room

Medical Practitioner

General practice and women's health

Dr Chanell Marthinussen qualified MBChB at Stellenbosch University in 2018, interned at Paarl Hospital and completed community service at Mowbray Maternity Hospital. She practises as a general practitioner and has built her work around women's and reproductive health, founding The F-Word to open up conversations most consulting rooms still avoid. She also leads virtual care at MyPocketHealth, and appears regularly on national television as a health voice. Her position is that a patient who understands their own health is the one who keeps it.

Start with a consultation.

Choose your practitioner, or the first available practitioner. The practice confirms a time by email — nothing clinical happens until you are in the room.

This sends a booking request only. Please don’t include medical details here — everything clinical belongs in the consultation, where it is protected as special personal information under POPIA.

Referrals come from your results.

Most members never need clinical care. When your results indicate that you do, your practitioner is the one who tells you, and the referral happens inside the same record so nothing gets repeated or lost.
