About Odyssey

Most people find out too late.

The conditions that shorten life in South Africa are largely the ones that announce themselves last. Insulin resistance, arterial disease and thyroid dysfunction all leave a measurable trail years before anyone gets a diagnosis. Almost nobody goes looking for it.

Odyssey Health exists to close that gap — and to close it with more than a report. One membership holds the whole of it: a coach who stays with you week to week, testing read in context by a registered practitioner, and a protocol that gets retested, because a protocol that cannot be shown to work is just an opinion.

Testing runs through accredited partner laboratories. Interpretation is done by practitioners registered with the HPCSA, who are named to you before you sit down. Everything lands in one record, so nothing gets repeated and nothing gets lost.

Care that needs a prescriber is its own discipline, with its own practitioners and its own handling of your information. Coaching and medicine sit side by side in your record — never blurred into each other.

Most members never need clinical care. When your results indicate that you do, your practitioner is the one who tells you — and the referral happens inside the same record, not across a front desk.

The clinical team

Doctors who are named to you.

Every clinical decision at Odyssey is made by a practitioner registered with the HPCSA, who is named to you before you sit down: Dr Nabeelah Rylands, Dr Roland Kroukamp, Dr Lenise Swanson, Dr Chanell Marthinussen and Dr Nazlee Samodien.

If you are here to be tested rather than to ask a question, the assessment is the quickest route — it matches you to a panel and a practitioner.
